Oriental Apartments

Oriental Apartments has long been considered one of the finest examples of 1920’s multifamily architecture in Portland. Placed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places, it was built in 1926 by Curtis A. Gardner. The design is a stately Tudor Revival style that features original brick work, tall gable roofs and an impressive rounded arched entrance to the front door. Step inside the building to find wide, sweeping halls and an arched ceiling that soars to the rafters. Each apartment has a unique foyer prior to the apartment door with an arched doorway and a pass through that creates a charming portico.

The apartments have been maintained to preserve the original features of the building. Hardwood floors are a warm setting in each well spacious floor plan. The living area is well laid out with plenty of space and excellent light from the large sash windows. Kitchens have original cabinetry, some with leaded-glass china hutches that separate the kitchen from the dining area. Bathrooms feature original tile tub surrounds and lots of light.

Cats and dogs are welcome at the Oriental Apartments with proof of renters insurance, but there is no pet rent! Smoking is not permitted at this property. Garages are also available to lease if you need additional storage space or simply want to park off street.

Oriental Apartments is in the Richmond Neighborhood between Hawthorne and Division.
